How the typing test works
Words per minute (WPM) is measured the standard way: every 5 typed characters count as one word, so WPM = (correct characters ÷ 5) ÷ minutes. Accuracy is the share of characters you typed correctly. Practising a few minutes a day is the fastest way to improve.
Tips to type faster
Keep your fingers on the home row, look at the screen rather than the keyboard, and focus on accuracy first — speed follows naturally once your fingers know where the keys are.
